This workshop will breakdown Sun Salutations which are at the heart of a flowing yoga practice. There are eight parts to the sun salutation sequence and Lisa will guide you through them paying attention to the intricate balance between strength, flexibility, and mindful presence. You will emerge with a clearer understanding of the history, styles and purpose of Sun Salutations (Surya Namaskar). We will strive to better understand the principles of postural alignment and the benefits of each asana on the body and mind. We will also explore transitions between postures, the conscious movement that connects them to form a dynamic cycle.
This workshop is for folks of all levels of experience and is great for beginners!
